New tamagotchi

There are two or three new Tamagotchis currently on the cards - the just-released "The Original Tamagotchi" line (which Japan got a year ago), the Tamagotchi Meets which is due out in Japan this month, and a rumoured (complete with leaked image, lending it credence) Pokemon Eevee Tamagotchi.

The Original Tamagotchi is a slightly-tweaked remake of the Gen 1 and Gen 2 devices from the mid-to-late 1990s, with some added penalties for overdoing snacks (they can lead to an early death, and can also count as care-mistakes, thus leading to bad-care characters). These never had generations and nor do the remakes.

The Tamagotchi Meets is a new colour Tamagotchi, which is the successor to the Tamagotchi M!x. Breeding and gene-mixing is a big part of this one, so it does have generations.

The Pokemon Eevee Tamagotchi is based on the Tamagotchi Nano, so it probably doesn't have generations, but we don't know one way or the other yet.
