My tamagotchi mini evolved the other day, and it turned into a different character. There are 5 available characters with a sixth surprise one. I was under the impression that they'd die before I got a different character. I'm not sure how it happened, but anyone's help is greatly appreciated.

Based on what I’ve read online, there are three evolutions for the mini.
First it will be a baby, then adult and finally a special character. To get a specific character it depends on how you take care of it. Please click here to check the growth chart.
The tamagotchi will approximately live for two weeks (15 days to be exact)

I would add, though, that since the version being asked about seems to be the 20th Anniversary Tamagotchi Mini (or, at least, that's what I'm guessing from the mention of "Series 4"), Super Unchikun, Ginirotchi, Darumatchi, and Mikotchi are unobtainable. (It seems a little odd to me that the growth-chart for several different variations has been rolled into one on the wiki, I must admit!
