I need help! >.<

I'm buying a new Tama, but I can't decide on whether I want the Meets or the On. I know they're the same with the language being the only difference, but here's where my debate comes in:

1.) I love the Meets packaging! The one from the On isn't as exciting for when I first open my tama. I know the packaging isn't everything, but like keeping things like that (I have all of my other packages from my other tama's too. aha)

2.) I know some Japanese, but I'm fluent in English. (Obviously.) I like knowing what is being said between different characters so I wouldn't be able to do that with the Meets, but I LOVE the Meets glitter in the plastic on the shell. The pearl is pretty for the On, but ... idano, man. Something about that glitter. >:P

3.) I really really REALLLLLLY want the Sanrio Meets, but again... I won't be able to see the convos between my characters and can the meets connect to the on tama's? (You know.. because one is in English and the other is in Japanese..)

and 4.) ... is it possible for the app for the meets to work in the US with a Meets instead of an On Tama? :o

ありがとうざいますみな‪⸜(*ˊᵕˋ*)⸝‬💕

I agree here! When you compare both I think most people agree that Meets and Some packaging better than the ON. :D

Understanding the menu translation is all you need, and fortunately the Meets is not that hard when it comes to gameplay, you just need a bit of time to be able to understand the options and the choices.

But the problem now is that you’re trying to understand the conversations between the characters, unless if you don’t translate them I think you should get the ON if you really want to know their interactions.

They can connect play/visit, not sure if they can mate though.

You can download the japanese app if you have a vaild japanese address and connect your Meets without any problems. (I did that btw)

Hopefully that will help you decide. ^_^

Thank you so much for your advice!!! :D

I had actually did a little research with my other tama's when meeting with friends in the park and they kind of usually say the same things, just randomized or in a loop. So, I'm really not too worried about. I decided just to get the Meets. ^^ It's not my first Japan Imported Tama, so I'm not worried about having to translate. If I really run into issues, I'm sure I can always ask for help here or look for something on YouTube depending on the reasons for needing the help/vids.

I made sure to check if the Meets will still with the Tamagotchi On app, and one of my TamaMama friends said hers works just fine with her app and she has the rare white colour Magic Meets. (It's actually really really pretty. :o) What really sold me was the Sanrio Meets. Which, if my calculations are correct, should be arriving in the mail in about two weeks. :D (It's gonna be a loooooooong next two weeks.. >.<;)

Thanks again~ c:

The meets can connect with the tama ON app and can be used concurrently with the meets app.  Also, for the sanrio meets, the 'glitter' effect is part of the holographic faceplate, not the plastic itself.

I have both a pink fairy on and a purple pastel meets! I like the games on the meets better because there's some skill involved with them. The fairy only has a game where you spam the A button and one where you move up and down to meet the dolphins. My pastel has a matching game I really enjoy, and I personally enjoy the backgrounds and characters available on the pastel. It IS hard not understanding the text but since I have both I can compare them when I get confused. The on and meets both connect to the english app, and can connect to each other. The shells look similar to me, the glitter is pretty much the same on both.

Just to make it clear for other people who might be reading this, fairy/magical ONs and meets have the same games/content as their language counterparts.

      Hello everyone!
I have really good news for us tamagotchi lovers, especially for those who are outside Japan!
Yesterday, @tamapalace made an article that can be found here and it’s talking about Mr.Blinky’s upcoming project.
He is working on the Tamagotchi Meets Station downloads/content, and according to him it will be soon available for everyone, that means we don’t need to be in japan to have them!
This is a screenshot I took from his twitter account:

I can’t wait to see the finished project and try it out myself!

The instruction manual for the Tamagotchi ON claims that twins appear "every once in a while, " implying that it is a rare occurrence. I am challenging this claim with circumstantial evidence that points towards it actually being based on genetics in a similar way to how physical traits are determined.
I am currently in the 15th generation of my Tamagotchi family. After tallying up which generations included twins and which didn't, I found that there were 10 out of 15 instances in which twins occurred. You could even take the first generation out of that, since it is impossible to have twins on the first generation, which would make it 10 out of 14 instances. This means that over 70% of the time, I have received twins, which is way too likely to be, "every once in a while."
This could be chalked up to really good luck, but it's not as fun that way, is it? I honestly believe, based on my results, that my Tamagotchi bloodline is somehow predisposed to twins. My first set of twins happened immediately in my second generation, which sparked the long line of twins to come. I think Bandai knew what they were doing with this, as in they intentionally made it this way just to add depth to the genetics mechanic as a whole.
Let me know what y'all think.

      Hey everyone!
sorry if this question was answered already but I searched and searched and I couldn’t find any info on it.  I have a Tamagotchi On and decided to get the a Sanrio Meets. Does anyone know if you can transfer items between them? So far I have noticed that you can marry their pets with each other so I’m guessing same can be done with the Tamas. I haven’t tested it out yet because my Sanrio is still a teenager. Just added that in case someone was wondering about it but the real question is if they can transfer items to each other because I’m getting fail connection. Does anyone have this info? Thank you for your time regardless.

So when I got my ON I noticed in the connection icon that it lists "Tamagotchi", "Download" and "App" as connection functions.
Tamagotchi is to connect with another Tama, App is for any interactions with the ON App, but then there's Download. I assume this is how Meets interact with the Meets stations over in Japan because that's the only other connection there could be. So I figured Bandai had something in mind for the west, either with our own ON Stations or something else. After all why keep a feature in the unit that users have access to if it wasn't something that was going to be in use. If it wasn't going to be used Bandai would have removed the feature or prevent access to it by removing it from the connection icon menu if removing the feature overall would glitch the programing. That's why with video games there are test rooms and text textures and stuff still there, because removing them would glitch or severely break the game.
And Tama Palace showed this a while back: https://tamapalace.tumblr.com/post/186961460353/tamagotchi-on-stations-bandai-america-has-another
Bandai had something planned but it fell through and theirs a chance their working on something else. I think we could get our own versions of the stations like Japan, who knows stores might be willing to set aside shelve space if it means an intensive to get people into physical stores after the internet has made less reason to go to physical stores. I'm not saying they have to be the same size as their Japanese counter parts.
Maybe you could use your phone in connection to the unit with bluetooth to download stuff from certain areas via Bandai's website. Like go to a major spot (Like Times Square for example since Tokyo has a station), open your phone and go to Bandai's Tamagotchi page were there would be a special button to interact with, put your Tama in front of the phone and select download on your Tama after taping the button on your phone on the webpage? I'm not the most well versed in this stuff so I'm now sure how it would work out if this is possible or not.
