Anyone else have a Tamagotchi ON with a dim screen?

Recommended Posts

I have two ON's active, a green magic which I got back in the June and a pink fairy I got for Christmas.

I keep both with the screen brightness at the lowest setting to conserve battery. But my fairy ON's screen is lightly brighter then my magic's.

At first I thought it was the color contrast (the fairy being pink with white designs and the magic being green with black) or maybe the brightness wasn't turned down all the way on my fairy.

But after checking that the brightness is at the lowest setting for both, then covering both until only the screens were showing to avoid the coloring from any distortion their colors might be doing, and setting them both on the contract setting screen to avoid their wallpapers from affecting my ability to tell as well. I've found that yes my fairy's screen is brighter.

I don't know if this is a early indication that the batteries are getting low before they die or if maybe this is something with my magic ON like a defect. Has anyone with more then one ON experienced this where one or more of their ON's screens are brighter then the others?

I haven't experienced this with a Tamagotchi, but I do know that this happens with other electronics that're of the same model as each other, too. It's usually due to manufacturers using multiple different suppliers for displays, leading to minor variations between units that most people won't ever notice - and which enthusiasts will inevitably notice!

I don't think its me being a Tama enthisuist that I noticed it. More like I'm a stickler for details and I notice this about anything really. 27 years of playing video games have trained me to be sensitive to color.

You could take a screen colored completely light gray and make one pixel just barely a lighter or darker shade and I'd zero in on it the second I look at it.

If something is wrong with my green magical at least my sister got in a purple magical for Christmas along with the pink fairy one.

Hehe, I just meant enthusiasts in the more general sense, there - this tells me that you most definitely meet the criteria that I was referring to. :)

I really don't think that there's anything wrong. It honestly sounds just like when the DS Lite was released, and people were comparing the two or three display variants that those machines had, which were warmer or cooler than each other, colours-wise. It looked really stark in photographs, but most ordinary people never even knew about it. :P

Hey there! I'll be journaling my first Tama On diary.
This afternoon I intended to start over a new generation since my teen evolved and I got Gozarutchi *again* due to bad care... And by bad I mean hours of neglect by sleeping in til noon and crazy part time shifts. The ninja hat trait was so persistent through the previous family tree and it wasn't my most favourite.
BUT I decided I couldn't go through another tamagotchi funeral after the last one (it was too painful tbh)

RIP great-great-grandchildren of Gozarutchi I. He was a weird looking combo but overall sweet boy.
So I decided to keep my Gozarutchi II in loving memory of the previous Gozarutchi the I clan.
Almost as an apology I fed him some curry from Tama Farm which he seemed to enjoy. Then I aimed to marry him off.
Mister Goza also caught me off guard doing some paintings action. This was new. It was funny he was frustrated to get the ducks to stand up so he could paint them lol.

We went ahead and bought the grand wedding ring. Costed 5000 G so that lucky gal better be saying yes. Our boi is flaming with passion.

The unforgettable moment awaits...! Without any further delay he heads off to find the girl of his dream...

We just got ourselves a Pizza Wife. So long, sad, single-life! Surviving my initial murder intention, my boy is officially in the manhood and properly wife-d.
Fast forward the honeymoon we now have a cute custard baby. He does look like a little custard bun. I named him baby Hope. I noticed in the last generation that if I marry a tama with another prominent head-trait, it dominates over the ninja head trait. My Pizza wife does have a pizza head, I wonder if this time that could dominate over the ninja trait.

The instruction manual for the Tamagotchi ON claims that twins appear "every once in a while, " implying that it is a rare occurrence. I am challenging this claim with circumstantial evidence that points towards it actually being based on genetics in a similar way to how physical traits are determined.
I am currently in the 15th generation of my Tamagotchi family. After tallying up which generations included twins and which didn't, I found that there were 10 out of 15 instances in which twins occurred. You could even take the first generation out of that, since it is impossible to have twins on the first generation, which would make it 10 out of 14 instances. This means that over 70% of the time, I have received twins, which is way too likely to be, "every once in a while."
This could be chalked up to really good luck, but it's not as fun that way, is it? I honestly believe, based on my results, that my Tamagotchi bloodline is somehow predisposed to twins. My first set of twins happened immediately in my second generation, which sparked the long line of twins to come. I think Bandai knew what they were doing with this, as in they intentionally made it this way just to add depth to the genetics mechanic as a whole.
Let me know what y'all think.

So when I got my ON I noticed in the connection icon that it lists "Tamagotchi", "Download" and "App" as connection functions.
Tamagotchi is to connect with another Tama, App is for any interactions with the ON App, but then there's Download. I assume this is how Meets interact with the Meets stations over in Japan because that's the only other connection there could be. So I figured Bandai had something in mind for the west, either with our own ON Stations or something else. After all why keep a feature in the unit that users have access to if it wasn't something that was going to be in use. If it wasn't going to be used Bandai would have removed the feature or prevent access to it by removing it from the connection icon menu if removing the feature overall would glitch the programing. That's why with video games there are test rooms and text textures and stuff still there, because removing them would glitch or severely break the game.
And Tama Palace showed this a while back: https://tamapalace.tumblr.com/post/186961460353/tamagotchi-on-stations-bandai-america-has-another
Bandai had something planned but it fell through and theirs a chance their working on something else. I think we could get our own versions of the stations like Japan, who knows stores might be willing to set aside shelve space if it means an intensive to get people into physical stores after the internet has made less reason to go to physical stores. I'm not saying they have to be the same size as their Japanese counter parts.
Maybe you could use your phone in connection to the unit with bluetooth to download stuff from certain areas via Bandai's website. Like go to a major spot (Like Times Square for example since Tokyo has a station), open your phone and go to Bandai's Tamagotchi page were there would be a special button to interact with, put your Tama in front of the phone and select download on your Tama after taping the button on your phone on the webpage? I'm not the most well versed in this stuff so I'm now sure how it would work out if this is possible or not.
