Should Lovelitchi and Melodytchi be considered lesbians?

  1. 1. Should Lovelitchi and Melodytchi be considered lesbians?

    • Yes! Having lesbian main characters is a huge step for diversity and inclusivity and would be great for the franchise and for Bandai!
    • No. They're fine without an explicit sexual orientation.
    • Bandai should incorporate LGBT themes into Tamagotchi, but through other methods.
    • I have no opinion on the matter.

Yeeeaah Sorry ;w; I have nothing against this whole idea, I just thought I'd mention that melodytchi is canonically clueless about this sort of thing.

I'll stop here.

Sorry to be bumping into this topic, but while I'm certainly not against anyone who ships these two, isn't melodytchi canonically clueless about love in the anime? It probably wouldn't have worked out even if lovelitchi actually WAS crushing on her.

Especially considering certain episodes that showcased that she has no idea what romantic love even is. Like that valentine episode when they were trying to figure out who wrote that valentine letter to her, thinking it was from someone crushing on her. (And she had no idea what was even going on.) Not to mention, I honestly don't get why people try to use that episode as proof that the two are in love with each other when lovelitchi herself was helping the girls figure out who wrote that letter to melodytchi, only to then find out that it was the one she made.

There was also that one episode where this character (I believe his name is princetchi?) was falling in love with melodytchi and asking her to marry him, and she went along with it not even knowing what marriage meant, nor even knowing that he was crushing on her to begin with.

I'm indifferent to the ship itself so it doesn't matter to me whether people ship the two or not, obviously they can ship whoever they want and have fun with it, so if anyone ships these two, by all means continue on! Even though I'm indifferent to it, it is a pretty cute ship idea nonetheless.

Couldn't have said it better myself, Tama-Friend.

I'm personally opposed to the idea because I'm a multi-shipper when it comes to Mametchi, and Lovelitchi is one of my ships for the adorable genius (if Melodytchi understood love, she would be another).

Talking about LGBT isn't really inappropriate so to say. It's just Lesbian (two females with romantic feelings for each other) Gay (two males with romantic feelings for each other) Bisexual (one person having romantic feelings for both genders) Transgender (when a person identifies as the opposite gender from the one they were assigned at birth).

It's no less inappropriate that a straight relationship, when a male and a female have romantic feelings for each other. LGBT is especially popular on Twitter and Tumblr and (to an extent) DeviantArt, and the world is taking baby steps not only toward its acceptance but also its embracement.

Keep in mind that “LGBT” is also the name of a collection of organizations that does rather objectionable things to people who fall under that term, so keep that in mind before you get the wrong message across by using that term.

Similarly, Tacoburritotchi probably had a different association with the term “lesbian” than what you meant, because of how broadly used the term is (e.g. “lesbian sex”).
