P's, idl, 4u, or meets?

Recommended Posts

Hey i would like to get your advice

I currently have the tamagotchi mix and would like to get another one... but im still not sure which one to get.

I really like the p's but i dont think i would be able to buy the pierces

I like the meets but i have the mix so im still not sure if i should buy it or not

The 4u have these attitude stuff which the mix dont have because the mix is all about seeing the outcome of your marriage

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you :)

The 4u is really basic. I love the on, and i find the 4u a little bit limited. Sadly it's all i can say since i dont played with other color tama.

The online functionality of the meets really adds to the experience in my opinion. For the Ps, there are patches that can emulate the pierces or even translate your Ps into english. Currently, not all the pierces are avaliable, but there are some additional pierces Mr. Blinky has created as well.  http://mrblinky.net/tama/vdp/

I would highly recommend getting a P's or iD L! They are both great devices and have great features on their own, and if you plan to take the extra step in getting a device that has infrared that can beam downloadable content to your tamagotchi, they're even better! Palm treo phones are probably the cheapest option for downloading content via infrared, they are usually $15-20 used on ebay and all you need is an SD card to use with it. Also, think about what you enjoy in a tamagotchi and see how/if each version caters to that. I would recommend you check out the growth charts for all these versions since they vary a lot. Other than the english patch for the P's and the differing possible characters, the P's and iD L devices are very similar and are both very enjoyable!

Both the P's and the iD L have infrared, while the 4U uses NFC. If you already have a device (phone or tablet) with NFC and is compatible with a 4U (use this link and scroll down to find the list of compatible devices, keep in mind it hasn't been updated in a few years), then that may be your best bet. Without added content, the 4U is notoriously "bare-bones" since it was made to be a much simpler tamagotchi so it would have more room for downloaded content of the owner's desire. Unfortunately, not all devices are compatible with such 4U so if you don't already own a compatible device, I would advise against it.

As for the meets, I can't speak on that since I don't own one, but it sounds like you're interested in trying out something new and the meets would be the most similar to your mix out of all the devices you're looking into.

Anyways, I hope that helped! I hope you enjoy whichever device you get! :D

Those are my two favorite colored versions. The +color is a great one. I'd go for the P's for sure.

I might be a few months late but I have a 4U+ on the way and I have read a few guides. It has really cool features such as earnable basic skills that you train your tamagotchi to do through scolding and praising. The basic skills are teaching it to poop on its own, bathe on its own and tidy it’s toys on its own. There is also the school feature. The park actually has a function. You can do a work out game to lose weight and be friends with other tamas. It has many features that a p’s has for a smaller price.

My personal favorite is the 4U+, because of the kawaii closeups!

My 4U+ arrived and I’ve had it for about a week or two. It isn’t that limited. You can aim to collect all the clover pieces, get the character and personality transformation of your fave Tama or train it to go to the toilet, have a bath and clean up its toys on its own. It’s pretty fun and pretty cheap. It is more basic than the P’s but it’s still a lot of fun!

      Hello,
Mr.Blinky released the upload tab in the 4U app for anyone to upload their characters, clothes, etc. and I'm wondering if there is any way to extract character sprites from the Tamagotchi P's VDP or Pierce pieces?

So I've been using the meets pets guide at https://tamatown.com/guides/meets/ to find out how to attract the pets for my specific version (Sanrio meets). I assumed that those pets listed were the only ones available on the Sanrio? However, this past time while my kids were playing with it, the pet definitely married a pet that is NOT on that list, I can tell by the baby's shape and ears. Is there a way to attract other pets that aren't on that list? Or do they just show up sometimes to marry your current pet?

Also, I've been wishing lately that the MyMeets app had the ability to make a pet to marry with. Anyone else lol??

I haven't had my meets for a long time yet, and I was so surprised to see him celebrating Setsubun today!! What other holidays will show up? Have you seen any others?

So I've encountered a few oddities on my (secondhand) Sanrio Meets in the few weeks that I've had it. Anyone else experience any of these?? Or have you experienced any other glitch that's not the reset/peter pan ones?
      1. So the first one I noticed is that sometimes the items in the toy section of the treasure box disappear. And I have definitely not deleted them. Like one time I had a pair of binoculars disappear after my tama took them to the tama hotel (where he played with them with Kuromametchi). Another time a box of sky crayons were just gone one day. Meanwhile all the other toys are sticking around just fine??
      2. The second one is that there is a mysterious, nameless ditto item in the accessories section of the treasure box. It's always the last item in the list and its picture is always the same as the second to last item in the list, but it has a blank where the name of the item should be. I'm afraid to interact with it or try to delete it??
      3. When I first started up the tamagotchi, I put my name as めい (mei). I definitely typed it correctly, and viewed it several times over the course of a week. But one day it changed and now shows that my name is めく (meku). I'm so confused as to how and why this happened??

I would really like to know if I reset my 4U if I will lose all the characters I downloaded. I really would like to raise a Violetchi I downloaded but my Tamagotchi is currently a boy so I can't. But besides this, except for the Items I lose will I also lose the games and rooms I downloaded if I reset or will this stuff stay?

Just a few minutes ago I pressed the C button on my Fairy On - an English Tamagotchi - and my twins (Tingulltchi and Jingulltchi) said this:

Never before have I seen a whole line of Japanese dialogue on my English On and even though the translation can be rough in places, they've never presented something outside of the Latin alphabet. I wonder if they are actually saying in Japanese what is usually rendered as "hello" normally. I also wonder if this was either a line that was left untranslated - it occurred for me during 9 p.m. on my On's clock - or if it was a side-effect of connecting my On several times with my Pastel Meets - I got the twins on my On up to the highest friendship with my twins on my Meets. I know that the On - and also the Connection Tamagotchis - do recognize and preserve Japanese text as evident by the entries in the friend list for connections with Japanese tamas. So far, none of the other text has changed to Japanese which leans more in favor of this being untranslated dialogue as opposed to glitch dialogue. Has anyone else seen this textbox on his/her On?
(I put the "Meets" tag in due to character restrictions preventing both searching and categorizing this post as being for the "On".)
