How do you tell what version of Tamagotchi you have?

Hi,

I'm not sure how you tell what type of tamagotchi you have because I revived my old tamagotchi only yesterday and the packaging has long since disappeared...

Does anyone know a way to tell?

The first two questions that I would ask are;

1: When did you get it?

2: What does it look like?

Even without knowing the when, many people here would be able to identify a model based on its looks. :)
