I have a Tamagotchi V2 and I'm so confused

So the matchmaker just came and a few minutes later there's like a little kid thingy beside my tamagotchi. Does anyone know what it is and what im supposed to do?

This is the baby you will be taking care of when your current tamagotchi leaves.
