I think that it's up to the individual what they like, rather than it being up to someone else saying that one group is allowed to have it but another isn't.

Well I’m a guy and I enjoy tamagotchi’s. Like what @Penguin-keeper and @Joc said, it’s really up to you when it comes to the gameplay.

Don't be fooled by the marketing ads and whatnot. The tamagotchi series are not exclusive to a specific gender audience no matter what the advertisements tell you. If you like cute things, get yourself one of the handhelds and have fun with it.
