Why is there a tiny white and brown cat beside my Tamagotchi? It's not an accessory, so I don't know why it's there. Help?

I always thought it was a hamster! 
This tiny cat/hamster comes with Pompompurin (Sanrio Meets) as he is holding it.
It is part of his body and apparently your tamagotchi got it.
