maybe you did clean it, you just forgot. and people, be appropriate. the tamagotchi DID not eat it

 
To be fair, at least one of the characters from the Morino Tamagotchi does it poop. I'm not saying this is what happened to you, but I'm also not saying it's completely out of the range of possibilities.

 
maybe it was there too long for the tama and it cleaned it by itsself
