Just watched my tama in "regular" mode: move around the screen, as usual, stop, open his mouth twice with particles floating out, stopped and continued moving around the screen. With 7 tamagotchis running at different time, I have never seen this action before? Any thoughts?

It's yawning. If it does it in the morning, then it just woke up. If it does it at night, turn out the lights and you'll regain one happy heart.

 
Thanks, guys/girls!! I thought that it might be yawning, except that it was at 10:30 PST. Maybe needing a nap? Thanks for your replies.

 
your tamagotchi has obviously had no sleep and is probably a smoker

 
don't forget to get it some nicotine patches if it's a heavy smoker
