Here's my Tama, who I dubbed Spencer! I was little worried I wouldn't be able to participate; when I inserted the battery, I kept hearing an audible clicking sound from inside the Tamagotchi, like a metronome (or a clock, I guess). Luckily, when I pressed B to set the time, the sound went away.

I'm going to try to get Hashizotchi, and that's for a few reasons, but primarily because it has the perfect lifespan; it'll die around a week before school starts for me (so I have a little extra time to mentally prepare for the hell that awaits me), but it'll still last a relatively long time.

Happy hatching, everyone! happy2

here's my guy as an egg! it's a p2, so it's a shirobabytchi now. i'll be going for sekitoritchi!
Ah, my rival! I'm also going for Sekitoritchi! I've never gotten him before :)

Here's my two guys, two that I've never run before. I named them Monika (P1 on the right) and Mikhail (P2 on the left).

Monika came with new screws and was easy to open, but she's used and her C button doesn't work properly. I didn't know this until after trying to hatch, then I remembered the ebay listing saying something about pressing the C button with a sharp object lol... I was able to get the clock started by pushing the C button in with a pencil. I need to get in and clean the contacts, but I already started and don't want to restart now XD So new challenge -- how much can we do without ever pressing the C button?! So far I've only had to press it once to start the clock. Since I started her shortly after Mikhail, I can use Mikhail's status to determine how she is doing. I can also just feed until she won't eat anymore to see if she needs to eat, then feed the same number of snacks to up the happiness. I think doing it that way, I won't ever have to press the C button.

Mikhail was unopened, but then I stripped the screw trying to get into him, and now I can't get in at all. I'm really good at stripping screws. Seriously, it's my specialty. It doesn't help that these old JP models have the tightest screws ever of all time. Anyway, he's running on whatever batteries he was packed with, so who knows how good they are. Hopefully he can live long enough to become Sekitoritchi, whom I've never gotten before.

For Monika, I don't have any special plans, just going to do my best and see what happens :) Hopefully I can get Mametchi or Ginjirotchi, though part of me wants to intentionally go for Kuchipatchi XD

Here are the buddies after evolving into their child forms :)

Did anyone else give names to theirs?

I already accidentally diciplined Mikhail so no Sekitoritchi for me :,) That's my fault for trying to run two at once... I was thinking that I needed to discipline Monika and ended up doing both of them T_T I think my new goal will be getting Hashizouchi instead. So I may as well go for Kuchipatchi on Monika! Gotta make sure to get in those misses without messing up discipline. Honestly, Kuchipatchi is harder to get than Mametchi XD

I initially planned to just hatch my gold P2 that already had batteries going from when I ran it recently, but I decided to also hatch this P1 along with it -- it's my first time running this P1! Both are from the '90s. Unfortunately, the paint on the gold one is looking a bit worse for wear, especially on the back.

I waited a little while after hatching the P2 before hatching the P1 because I did not want to take care of two babies at once.
I haven't named them; I tend to only give names to virtual pets that have a built-in naming feature.

Age/weight update -

p2.jpgp1.jpg
Anyone else think it's interesting that the P2s use pounds for weight and P1s use ounces, but the number is still the same? There are 16 ounces in a pound, right? Does this mean that P2 Tama characters are 16 times larger than the P1 characters? I really doubt it, lol, but I've never really engaged in the Tamagotchi universe beyond classic Tamagotchi pets -- can someone who's familiar with the cartoon and all that confirm that the characters are all similarly sized/P2 characters aren't bigger? Lol

By the way, KuchipatchiPod, I like that P2 shell!
