I have a red one with white spots, and the character at the moment is kusatchi, which was a p2 character waay back in the '90s... i always got them then cos they were the worst characters and I couldn't take my tamagotchis to school back then.

From what I've encountered, tamagotchis usually sleep for about 12 hours. Just make sure that the AM/PM is correct, so it's not sleeping all day and awake all night (learned that the hard way with my original, lol). If you keep odd hours it might be a good idea to set your tama's clock wrong...
