What VIRTUAL PET PEDOMETER should I get?

I really want a Virtual Pet Pedometer.

Im thinking of getting a Dragon Quest Pedometer, but can't seem to find it anywhere less than 30 dollars. Please help!

What are other pedometers that are fun?

As a kid I had a Pocket Pikachu, I thought it was fun at the time-but I wouldn't get it again. It has one mini-game only (a slot-machine game where you won "watts" (similar to Gotchi-Points) and the more watts you made the more your Pikachu loved you.

What's the Dragon Quest one meant to be like? I loved the DS game, but never heard of the pedometer. Sounds cool actually!

I guess the Pikachu one would be fun if you view it as a pedometer with extras, rather than a Pikachu that is also a pedometer.

The only pedometer I have is the Tamawalkie. There's actually a lot of things you can do with it. Here's a quick look at it:

I don't know how good other pet pedometers are but I can say this one isn't totally accurate. Once I hooked it on my pants and it didn't account for any of my steps. There needs to be obvious movement so it will count in the steps. I like to use mine when I go on a vacation. I think its a pretty good pedometer but then again I don't have another pedometer to compare it to.

Much like Fae I had a Pocket Pikachu (2) when I was younger; I bought it way back when it was first released and I was on holiday in the US. I remember it not doing a whole lot and Pikachu spent most of his/her time hating my very existence (I was only ten at the time and apparently did not walk enough to earn enough watts to keep them happy). When I was a bit older I loaned it to a friend who was mad about Pokemon and she accidentally flushed it. Anyway, I replaced it last month, mostly for nostalgia reasons. As I remembered, it really doesn't do a great deal, but if you just want a pedometer with some cute animations, it's perfect. I actually really love the simplicity of it (there's no care involved; you just earn watts for walking or playing the game and give them to Pikachu) as it means I can take it anywhere and don't ever need to put it on pause. However, if you're wanting a bit more than cute animations attached to a pedometer, I would not recommend this (it's also relatively expensive).

I have also recently aquired a Cocotama, which is insanely cute. Like PP2 it doesn't really have a 'care' element, but it is actually quite involved. You unlock items (such as food and toys) with X amount of steps. You can also unlock new games, rooms and furniture (to decorate the rooms with), as well as new Cocotamas (although only two are 'playable'). There are six games to unlock in total, which I have managed to do over a weekend. There does appear to be loads of content on the Cocotama. You can also level up the two 'playable' characters, which also unlocks toys. I am enjoying it immensely, especially as the lack of any real care element makes it much more casual 'pet'. (I use my PP2 to keep track of my steps and cheat with the Cocotama by shaking it).

That said, I do feel like I'm missing out on quite a bit of content by having (very) limited Japanese. There's a lot of cutscenes with long conversations between the different characters, and I can't read much more than 'good morning' and 'good night'. I do think it's a shame as I feel like I am missing out (more so than when I use a Japanese language Tamagotchi, as the conversations are usually just unnecessary, but fun, babble; at least, if my iD LE/patched P's is anything to go by). However, it is cute and I'm enjoying unlocking various things and I definitely do not regret buying it (just maybe regret getting the pink version).

I just got several Tamagotchi accessories so I'll set them up before buying anything further, but that does look like a great pedometer!

There is also the Teku Teku angel that I have been looking into, it can hook onto the ds too, which I don't own, but it's totally cute and it seems it sends you letters and evolves along a month depending on your steps. The older version is around $29, the newer one is $32-33 on ebay

Cocotama and Teku Teku Angel are my favorite pedometer pets.

Thank you. ^_^ The Cocotama is so much fun! I sort of ended up with it by accident; someone was selling a Tamagezi (which I really wanted), but wanted to make enough of a sale to buy a M!X. I was curious about the Cocotama, so I decided to get that too. The turquoise one looks lovely; really wish I had that instead of the pink, but I'm considering customising it, so hopefully it won't be too much of an issue! I'd definitely recommend the Cocotama if you're curious, like adorableness and aren't too bothered about 'care' functions (even my boyfriend thinks the Cocotama is pretty neat).

While I don't have a pet pedometer myself, there's also the Arukotch(i). However it goes for quite a bit online and is rarely on any auctions at all. But it seems really cute! I think you get items for dates on it and you can also propose to the characters you meet.
