I've had to do a few repairs on my angel over the past couple years, and it seems to be in rapidly degrading health - first the tap sensor became so desensitized that i have to tap it on a hard surface at the perfect angle (not too hard) to scare bats away, but recently the speaker has been acting oddly - occasionally, it would get a little harsh and screechy while playing tunes, like the evolution and game noises. I put it on my shelf for a while because it would quietly scream and then go dim when i put batteries in it sometimes, but a few days ago i opened it up, cleaned some corrosion out from under the screen, and then it would turn on proper again.

Things have gone fine for about one day each time i've tried. on day one, i had a ghost jr, grew it into a maruten, and it was just fine until the next day. In the morning, though, I woke up and tried to play a game with it, but the sound immediately went haywire and the screen started violently flickering - it wouldn't stop switching between my character, obaketchi and masses of activated pixels, so i quickly took the batteries out and opened it up to see if any parts had been squished the last time i put it back together...I noticed that the screen contact pads were oddly squishing out to the sides, so i took it off, put the screen back on so everything was flat, and then I put the batteries back in. It worked fine, but this is when the game started sounding consistently bad for about an hour before it went mostly back to normal.
Key point here: all the sound distortion seems to go away gradually.
The second time, Yesterday, I gave it a much more thorough clean. this was when i spotted the corrosion under the screen and cleaned it. After doing so, it sounded okay, but the game tunes were horribly mangled and unrecognizeable for a few hours after starting it back up. it seemed to work alright, but i noticed that while trying to take a video of the sounds to show my friend, the screen was flickering very slightly as it played the messed-up tune. It was so subtle that i could only see it on the video. After a few hours, though it sounded perfectly normal. As a note, this is the only angel i've ever had, so I don't know if this is normal, but mine is EXTREMELY quiet - i can barely hear it if it's sitting face down on a table next to me. When i tried recorded the sounds, i had to literally hold it touching my earbud mic for it to be heard.

And that brings us to this morning. It seemed to be running just fine, and it was a maruten. I went to play a game with it to fill its happy hearts, but the moment the tune started, the screen started warping again. By the end of the music, which was unrecognizeable, it had turned bck into a ghost jr. I checked its stats and it still said it was 3yrs old, but after a second game, that brought its age down to zero. On the next game i played, it reverted to an obaketchi and asked me to set the time. I set the time and let it hatch, and now the sounds are incredibly distorted. Before, it was just the tunes, but now all of the beeps sound wrong, though over the hour since, the button press beeps sound almost normal again. When i play the game, the screen shivers really badly until the music stops and then i can play normally. It seems to be a bit louder than before.

Some additional info: The speaker hasn't been attached to the back cover for a long time. It came unglued at some point, perhaps that's why it's so quiet. however, the speaker itself is... really ugly. it's tarnished, and the little circle on the back where the wires are connected looks to be kind of rusty in a way that alcohol couldn't get off. I turned off the sound, and i can play the game without any flickering at all. Would taking a speaker from another tamagotchi and replacing it with that of the old one help? I'm terrified of the soldering iron, but if it means i can extend the life of my angel, I can do it... but I'm worried that the speaker wouldn't be able to cause that problem directly and the cause is something more serious.

I can't help suss out a lot of the issues, but the angel tamagotchi are known for being notoriously quiet.

I don’t know. I think that you could solder it but it could mess up even more. I think you should just replace it with another one.

the problem is that angelgotchis have gotten dramatically more expensive since i got this one... when i bought in in 2016, it was only $18, but now you can't find a good working one for less than triple that on ebay. It would be half as expensive to buy an original to rip a speaker out of.
