I'm thinking about getting one new in box, but is it worth the price? How similar is it to a regular p1/p2 tamagotchi? I probably will never find another so cheap so the connection feature would be wasted on me. Did my research and I'm 100% sure it isn't a fake!

EDIT: Did a bit of research and got my answer! tips are always a big help, though!

100% yes! is highly recommended! I love them and they are not so similar to p1/p2, it's like a super improved and more complete version: different games, store (not in v1), weddings... very cute animations!
Hope you got it, anyway you will enjoy it a lot without having a second device.

I definitely recommend trying the connections, my very first Tamagotchi was a V3!

It is actually different when you compare it with P1/2. It has so many different characters and mostly you will keep getting different characters depends on your care.

Of course each version has its on unique features and it’s really hard for me to recommend which one to get as a start but I’d say either a V2 or V3 for a simplistic versions. However V4/V4.5/V5V5.5 and V6 (Music Star) tend to be more complex due to certain “skill” features that affect the gameplay.

Tamagotchi Connections still really hold up IMO. The English releases are wildly expensive now unfortunately. The Japanese releases (like the keitai for instance) tend to be cheaper, if you're looking to save money.

I've decided to get one!
I see a couple online listings for around the same price. A v1, v3, and v4.
I'm thinking of getting a v3, but to be honest, I know very little about it, even though I've read quite a bit on them XD

The V3 is a great pick, tbh. It has a lot of the energy of the oldschool ones with a touch more. If you like the P1/P2, you'll love the V3!
