I'm about to get a Tamagotchi (first ever) and I have some questions :)

Hi, I'm new here!

I'm 23 years old and I've never had an original tamagotchi. I remember having chinese tamagotchis when I was a child, although I remember I didn't actually never unterstood them.
Several days ago I bought a clone (168in1) but I was really disappointed. The creature didn't actually grow, they don't die, I couldn't mute it...

So I started reading about tamagotchis online. But now I have a mess. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there are like these types:
- Vintage generation (from 1997): P1, P2 and others (ocean, forest...)
- Connection (from 2004): v1, v2, v3, v4 and v5 basically.
- Color (from 2008): Plus color, iD, 4U, On, Pix...

Now, my mess starts here... Right now, on the market I can only find Pix and... Tamagotchi Original Gen 1 and Gen 2.





My question is: are these new Tamagotchi Gen 1 and Gen 2 the same as Vintage generation (P1 and P2 respectively) but relaunched on 2022?

Although there is Gen 1 and Gen 2 on the market right now, have they been launched at the same time?
I want the better one, so I was going for Gen 2 because I though it was launched later. But actually, it seems like the only difference between Gen 1 and Gen 2 is the different characters designs?

Tamagotchi Pix is discarted for me, because of the price and because I want a simplier one (nostalgic).

But maybe Gen 1 or Gen 2 are too simple? I've read about Tamagotchi Connection and they seem perfect for me, but they are not on the market. The only option is to search on second hand shops like ebay, but they are too expensive (there are some that are not expensive but they are in japanese). Do you think Tamagotchi Connection will be relaunched?

It seems like only Gen 1 and Gen 2 have been being relaunched from 2018.

Gen 1 and Gen 2 are a rerelease of the vintage ones (P1 and P2) but now they come in new shell designs. There’s a slight change in the programming but I would say it’s 90% the same as the old ones.

I believe they were both available at the same time since it’s a rerelease of the old models, the difference between the two is the characters and the game as well as the shell designs. Click here to check the characters available on both versions.

Unfortunately they stopped producing the connections years ago!

The connections are my favorite because that’s how I knew about Tamagotchis and they definitely have a lot of features when it comes to gameplay.

I doubt that but who knows.
At the moment their only interest is the original remakes they keep making mew shell designs.
