That depends on the device you are using. Generally the vintage and the connections will last around 3-4 weeks.
LR44 for the vintage devices, CR2032 for the connections and AAA sized batteries for the colored/modern versions.
The colored or modern versions. I’ve seen people complain recently about Tamagotchi Pix, although the Tamagotchi Smart is rechargeable it probably is the most problematic when it comes to power consumption.
I normally go for Energizer or Duracell

Humulos did a video comparing battery life of 6 different batteries in digivices- at "cost per day to run the pet", Panasonic and Energizer were the winners. Duracell was one of the first ones to die!
It surprised me because I buy Panasonic batteries from the Dollar Tree as a quick cheap option, but I've been pleased with them and Energizer over the years.
