4 years old, didn't change.
One thing I noticed, when I wake it up when its sleep meter is full, it wakes up with happy animation/jingle. Was not the case when I woke it up other times when the bar was not full. So, a good thing?

5 yrs old, I did it, I think this is the cutest/best care/happiest form: Kinda like mametchi:

I took great care, never got it sick, I missed one discipline call yesterday so discipline meter was not full, I feared it might blow my run for best...but here it is!

This is the same form of legacy duck in 24in1, my very first virtual pet.

I am so happy !

I cheated a little. I changed the clock to prevent my duck from aging. (push a+c in clock screen)

Its still 5 yrs old and adorable as ever. I want to spend a few days like this with my crazy duck. The pet does not have a set in stone sleeping time, only sleep meter, you can sleep and wake up any time, which is huge boon to enable this cheat. So long as clock does not hit 00.00 ever, it does not age.

@TamaStewart Oh, that's a bummer. Hope you can find another one, it is a nice pet to run. It is not widely popular/known, google search nets me my own thread mostly, which is kinda odd.

If you can get a guwappi duck, gyaoppi duck I think it is even better with additional features like weather. I got a super gyaoppi 9in1 (duck is in it too) but it is with an overseas friend (the seller did not post to my country) and it is not in the best condition, my friend was not able to open up a screw. I will try it out when and if I get it and it works. I had super gyaoppi 9in1 as a child and it was the BEST virtual pet, content wise, though I long for my smart 24in1 baby&pets vpet for sentimental reasons. It was my first vpet and I will always love it. I will never get a new one though, they are super super rare-nearly extinct. Which breaks my heart a little.

As for news, I had the worst stomach flu of my life, was laying on bed semi-unconcious for the last day with fever, chills, and aching all around. Dehydration is one hell of a drug. I had to put the ducky on sleep for extended amounts of time. I was so sick couldn't do most basic things.

The vpet never wakes up on its own, which is a good thing. It does not get hungry or unhappy when asleep. Which is a very convenient feature when real life does not allow you take care of your vpet.

I at least editted the clock again so it did not age. I feel a bit better today, at least I don't feel like I am dying, so I will probably allow it to age to 6 today, and we will see if this over-sleep mode hurts its evolution.

Grew to 6 yrs old and turned into tea-pot duck in the first hatch. I guess that one is one of the 'not ideal' evolutions.
Sorry, ducky.

7 yrs old, became the most normal duck ever, so I think I kinda saved the bad care

This is the official duck used in game/happy/angry animations, so a 'standart care' form?

Good job!

8 yrs old, kinda looks morose. I feel like this is the max life of the pet, if it will die in 9 yrs like the previous one:

Yep. Death is inevitable once 9 years old.
death.jpg

I like gyaoppis better in this regard that they can grow up to 20+ years old with good care.
Tamakaci line always dies off at 9 yrs old.
I guess that's one way to teach little children that every good thing comes to an end, death is an inevitable part of living and is not always something to be scared of, etc.

There are other 'tamakaci' style vpets, dino and chicken. I think they all share the same programming, from seen most of the videos online. Here's growth chart for dino, from youtube:
ghghgh.jpg
(btw this channel is a gold mine for old vpets!)

This is exactly like duckland, 0-1 baby stage, 2 yrs old child stage (2 different outcomes) and for 3-8 yrs old there are 10 variations, one being iconic best evolution (number 7 the dino waving at screen, seen on screen) (this iconic sprite is the one used in my legendary 24in1 as the base form) aand death at 9 yrs old max. Death always wins in the end. (somber thought for a cute toy)

If there are 10 evolutions, I think I saw 5-6 of them in my runs, including iconic one with trousers. I saw some weird evolutions online, like snailduck, camelduck and tortoiseduck and one angry looking duck. I think they need bad care...will share if I get them in my further runs.

I got a new one from the same seller, however this one is in perfect condition! Screen is spotless, so good! My first one was used, this is unused the buttons are hard and the sound is perfect!!! This made me happy, such a nice upgrade!

New run with new karugamoland virtual pet:

I can't believe how well preserved this one is compared to my first. Cute pink/fuschia shell is nice too.

0 yrs old duckling:

Playing game:

I get quite good in this game, you need to time pushing left or right. I push left when the duck turns to right, if you push it left 0,5 seconds after it turns to right, it stops at left and you win the round.

Karugamoland has one of the cutest sleeping animations for sure. The duck's body bops up and down as it Zzs.

1 year old ducky:

Discipline time: When the duck calls for no reason, it is time for lesson. This raises discipline meter. If you miss this call for 5 minutes however, the call dissapears but the ducky becomes spoiled. Discipline meter goes down sometimes as low as half! I think discipline meter is important for evolutions.

(animation is fast so it was difficult to take a non blurry shot.)

2 years old, got the good care cute gingerbread duck. Showed here with original Karugamoland packaging:

I did some research and found a Russian tamagotchi encyclopedia. It details nearly ever virtual pet. It is in Russian ofcourse, but I can translate by copying paragraphs and pasting into google translate. I learned quite a lot. There are many variations based on gyaoppi, as listed here: Karugamoland game making honorable appearance:
00.jpg

The chart that details gyaoopi clones is useful. The seller I bought my Karugamoland also sells Gaaa Rapper, some sort of dinopet, and Gaaa hippie (although the chart lists it as a duck, I think that's more like a chicken from growth chart.) The problem is the quality of the seller's products vary, my first karugamoland was used and the screen was bad. This however was unopened and in perfect condition.

3 yrs old, on the way to good ducky. So curious if I will get the best duck again.

I made research on gyaoppi based duck pets. There are three main families:

Guwappi duck, found in duck shell or oval shell, detailed in this page:
Adsız.jpg

Standart gyaoppi duck, evolutions vary on care
Duck egg is mottled
There is no snack option, just food/water
Turn/card guessing games
Sleeping has night background
Weather options for hat, umbrella, shelter (for thunderstorm)
Has poop/sickness icons
Max life varies with care

Tamakaci duck, very similar to gyoppi, with differences. Has a watch design and quite nice pocket design with protective shell and even mirror inside! Seen here:

Standart gyaoppi duck, evolutions vary on care
Duck egg is mottled
There is snack option
Turn/card guessing games
Happy animation subtly different with a heart animation.
Sleeping has night background
No weather
No poop/sickness icon, they are shown on screen via animations, different sickness require different cure
Max life 9?

Next is my vpet karugamo, differences:

Subtly different/unique gyaoppi evolutions, mostly very similiar
Duck egg clear with letter 'D' on it
There is snack option- feeding is the most important thing, filling all food bars cause sickness
Turn/card guessing games with subtly different animations
Sleeping has asleep duck on its face snoring animation
No weather
No poop/sickness icon, they are shown on screen via animations, different sickness require different cure-exactly like tamakaci
Max life 9

There is also internationl/english version Perpetual Duck
Exactly same as Karugamoland, background is different (karugamo has water circles, perpetual has floral pattern)
Action icons are different, overall gameplay and animations are same

All three can put to sleep and get awakened any time, which is very convenient.
Nice, different evolutions , karugamoland has subtly different bits (0 yr old duckling looks quite different)
Guwappi has weather options, karugamo/tamakaci has snack and more complex feeding

5 years I got the best ducky again <3
ducky.jpg
I think I got this pretty much guaranteed, best care is:
do not overfeed, leave food bars at most 3/4 full
never let mood drop below 3 hearts
never get sick
