    Scorpian Misses Dead Friend

:D That's too bad about your hamster. The heart will go away. Some other things that make happiness points go up might help, like gourmet food or candy, playing with toys or petting. What does a scorpion eat? Do you plan to get another gigapet?

    TRAGEDY! Puffy is gone!

In short, the first gigapet in the family, who was almost a year old (Xmas present last year) is no more. I did create a new dragon lizard, named Puffy Jr. Except for not being able to set the clock to 12 hour mode, Puffy Jr. seems to function normally.

    TRAGEDY! Puffy is gone!

The first sign of something odd was Puffy the dragon lizard bought a lot of Mulch Meal, planning to trade it to Puff Puff the puffball, since puffball health food (Shiny Gold) costs so much and Mulch Meal just costs $5. (In return Puff Puff would give Cotton Candy, which costs $5 but turns into...

    Giga Handheld Batteries

Radio Shack is expensive. K-Mart & Target have a better price.

What do you think is best or worst about gigas?

Favorite thing: linking to trade items. Least favorite: buying food.

    Are gigapets getting boring?

It's repetitive tasks like buying food or digging at the wishing well that seem boring to me. Boring, but relaxing. When the pets' hunger is too high, their mood goes down, which makes them refuse to eat. That's when I link them to cheer them up.

    Tama Talk Rules!

I am sharing the world of Giga Pets with my 9 year-old daughter. She will be joining Tama Talk as soon as her computer is on the internet. Puffy the dragon lizard has been with us for 40 days, & just got his first set of new batteries. We also have Tommy the tomcat and Gamera the hamster, as...

what do I do about a 'very sad' giga pet?

How did you manage to keep it to only 40 halos? You must have avoided digging! I think the personality-mood connection is a good hypothesis. You can check it out by eating some angel food cake or maybe nice drops, though I try to stay away from the foods that make personality points go down, as...

    Batteries

So, Puffy was a very brave dragon lizard, getting his back opened up & his innards replaced! :) Yes the batteries are expensive! About 5 bucks each, at Radio Shack but I'm hopeful there might be a cheaper source. I think the "Do you want a new pet?" message appears anytime the unit...

    Batteries

To answer my own question, they are not double A's, they are much smaller. LR44's are "button" or watch batteries. I'll let you know how it goes finding them & installing them.

    Batteries

In the topic "Linking Pets" Flyleaf asks about when you try to link them and are asked if you want a new pet. Muffballa replies: So I think maybe that's an answer to my question of how do you know when the batteries are low. I hope Muffball will post here about her experience replacing batteries.

    Linking Pets

I've gotten this message a couple of times. I will quote your message in the new "batteries" topic I have just started. If you have replaced batteries, can you please tell about it in the "Batteries" topic? Thanks! :furawatchi:

    Batteries

Also, about the "reset" button. The first thing the instructions say is IMPORTANT: If this game malfunctions, push in RESET or try new batteries. NOTE: this will not erase any pet data. You also push in reset after replacing the batteries. I guess "reset" is like on a computer - it's the...

    Batteries

The instructions specify 1.5V "A76" or LR44 batteries. Is this the same as double A's? Does anyone know how long the batteries usually last if you play every day? What warnings are there that the batteries are low?

    Gigpets Explorer...has anyone finished it?

The truth is I'm not nuts about TV Explorer! My husband & daugher are into it, though. I think the game gives a mixed message. All those quests certainly do make it seem like a Zelda type game, but they don't really follow through with that, as you point out. As an ongoing virtual pet game...

    Gigapets connection

From what I've seen, food changes when you trade it but toys don't. My daughter's tomcat was able to give a stuffed puffball to my dragon lizard and it didn't change. But feline feed becomes mulch meal. It took us a few tries to get "trade item" right. You have to press zap when you see the "so...

    My Dragon Lizard

I didn't know you had a dragon lizard too! Those were some amazing stats for only 4 days! Did you spend hours and hours with him? No wonder you knew so much so soon!

    Giga Pet Strategy Guide

Jelwell, I can't tell you how useful your map has been! I always keep it handy. Twix, your instructions on how to get to the wishing well really got me started! With the help of you two, Puffy is now a very wealthy (and healthy) dragon lizard, able to help his new friends Tommy and Gemara get a...
