It depends on what character you have. I have a Mimichi called Suki, and she evolves about every day, sometimes longer.

Tamagotchi Connexion has infra-red in it, it's the red thing on top of the tama. It's how you connect with other Tamas. Also, there's different games and characters. I know this becuase I have my own Tama Connexion right here in front of me. Her name's Suki. :)
