If you go on ebay you can find a lot of fake tamagotchis. I belive you about this, but I've never seen them bing sold on the street.

I don't think it really matters which tamagotchi characters are used, as long as it is colorful and the characters are happy. It would give a better idea of what the tamagotchi's look like. Some of the entamas have one, but I think it would be cool if there were a bunch of characters on it...
