I was fortunate enough to find a PCB at a thrift store today. the screen and sound work just fine, however, the knob on the side seems to be broken.

I was able to crank it once to change rooms, now it wont budge. I tried undoing the screws on the back to pry the toy open, but the roof is all one piece- so i cant fully take it apart to see why the knob wont turn. I am able to get it partially open (like a clamshell), and the dial does move (albeit stunted), but when I clamp everything back together, the knob goes back to being stationary.
I realize there isnt a huge audience for this somewhat obscure and outdated tech, But im hoping someone has some clue of what I can do to fix this.
