I found my v4 stowed away after thinking that I had thrown it away 10 years ago. Gleefully, I ran it up to the fourth generation and then it started to act up...
Even with new batteries, I'd get the "dead battery" screen. Resetting it will only cause it to happen again hours later. Each time it happens, the age of the character goes back to 1. I tried what I could to fix it, but this bug is still persisting.
So, I guess I'll take the hint, and it's time to put it to rest...my lime green v4 with a Mametchi shell design entertained me for the past four months, as well as my younger self.
