lol. Today at my friends house, this is the music convorsation we had:

Me: Have you guys ever heard of Panic at the Disco?

Them: ._. noooooo.... o.0

Me: What about Green Day

Them: o.o WHO NOW!?

Me: 3oh!3? COME ON! You have to have heard about them!

Them: Doesn't ring a bell.

Me: WTF you've heard of the song "don't trust me" but you never heard of the band that sings that!?

Them: Correct.

Me: Weird. Well how about Cobra Starship.

Them: Who the HELL!?

Me: ._. You guys are weird.....

Yeah, it was weird. So in other words, people dont like bands that I like. xD

Every band I like, no one has heard of xD
England doesn't know what good music is
I completely agree with that! xD

Very few British artists/bands are worth listening to these days, and the bands from anywhere that are good aren't known by anyone here..

I like old music, for the most part and they're the real classic bands who made the greatest music. How people don't know them just amazes me (well, people are getting to know a few now, only thanks to suckish franchises such as Guitar Hero and Rockband. Sure, they're great fun to play, I admit, but they're unrealistic and people then think that guitar is easy, and also that they know about rock music when they really don't).

People here don't know most of my favourites;

Journey, Dire Straits, Guns 'n' Roses (can you believe that!?), Heart, ZZ Top.. Even British bands like Led Zep (oh, yeah, and Dire Straits are as well, woops xDD) aren't well known.

"Jimmy Page--"

"Wait, who?!"

Alotta people know the Killers here, lol.

None of my friends know

- Short Stack [Well, duhh, theyre Australian]

- Asian bands xD

- The blaqk year

- Bowling for soup

- Cute is what we aim for

- Forever the sickest kids

- Hey Monday

- The Maine

- Stereo Skyline

- We the kings

and muchh muchh more.

The other day, my friend told me to ask her a question about me, so I asked "Whats my favorite band?" So she answered "Girls like boys or something...?" and I said "First of all, it's Boys like Girls, and my favorite band is All time low" and she said "Ohhkay, never heard of either of them.." xD

See, all of those bands are extremely popular here, except for Short Stack and The Blaqk Year and the Asian bands. xD

So I don't know. Everyone here knows who All Time Low and Panic are. Everyone knows Forever The Sickest Kids. Everyone knows Never Shout Never and Mayday Parade. And if you've never heard of Green Day or The Killers, you can pretty much go die in a hole.

So yeah, my school is pretty legittt :)

I live with cool kids.

We live off The Maine, NSN!, The Cab, and Stereo Skyline.

FTSK is well known. They're from Dallas.

TFNB and ARTTM are cool.

The Hit is kind of a big deal. (shirt quote anyone?)

VersaEmerge and Hey Monday are as awesome as Paramore.

Panic! At The Disco, Fall Out Boy, and Boys Like Girls are our mainstream.

And if you don't know who Alex Gaskarth is, you live a miserable life.

I love my school.

Ohyus. Today at indoor, Riley came up to me and was like "who's your favorite band?" I'm like "Cobra Starship, ACDC, and 3oh!3." And he's like "Okay, first of all, Nobody listens to ACDC anymore, Cobra Starship doesn't exist, and I've never heard of 3oh!3. Thankyou, and Gooday" and then he walked away. It was weird.

The Republic Tigers

Chocolate Genius

Beast

Melody Gardot

Ferry Corsten

Owl City

I love Melody Gardot. She sings vocal jazz music and it's terrific. Chocolate Genius is very strange and ambient, Republic Tigers are very trippy, and Beast is just strange in a very interesting way. Owl City is one of the best in my opinion. It consists of only one guy singing, and all the music is electronically produced. A lot of these I got as iTunes Free Singles of the Week, so if you want some great indie music, you should really check those out sometime.

..I like all the bands that your parents would probably know. x]

A lot of my friends don't really listen to that sort of music, so they hardly know what I'm saying when I talk about the Foo Fighters, Pink Floyd, the Eagles, Silverchair, The Who, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Police, the Fugees, Wham!, Smashing Pumpkins, Guns N Roses, etc. Maybe they've heard it mentioned somewhere, but..

I like All Time low, Boys Like Girls, and stuff too, but the only people that ever listen my classic favorite bands are like, my teachers, or my friends parents. ;P

Loooove them all. :D

D': I feel like crying. NO ONE knows who I talk about.

"Shaun Diviney-"

"Saywhut?"

All the bands/artists I like don't ring any bells (nsn!, Short Staacckkk, All Time Low, Panic, Green Day, Paramore, Metro Station, Cobra Starship, Boys Like Girls, 3OH!3 etc.) with any of my friends. ]': 'Tis why I take refuge here at TT (I joke, I joke).

Well, EVERYONE'S heard of the Jonas Brothers, actually. And I enjoy Leona Lewis' music.

I think pretty much everything else people in England listen to sounds the same. o:

Edit; I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT..

And no one knows who Tom Felton is or what he sings until I'm like, "FOR GOODNESS SAKE PEOPLE IT'S DRACO MALFOY FROM HARRY POTTER -" At which point they back away slowly.

I think Kendal is very amusing. o: :'D

Short Stack. They're actually not all that popular here at all.

That is, until myself and my friends make people like them. :)

Some of the bands that people listed are heaps popular here. :\ All Time Low, Green Day, Metro Station, 3OH!3, Panic, Cute Is What We Aim For, Hey Monday, are all like super duper popular. But still, in my school, no one beats Flo Rida, or Eminem, or The Pussycat Dolls, or anyone like that.. which I actually find kinda sad. D:

I know >_> America produces the best rockstars ;o But my close circle of friends like almost every band I like so.. I recently got all of them into Never Shout Never and Forever The Sickest Kids; VERY unknown band in South-East London.
