This is most definetly a glitch, but I have a question is your tamagotchi a V1,V2,V3 or V4? I am confused on that one but when you unpause it, it must be time for it to go to sleep or something I am not sure.....Check a bedtime guide and see what time your tamagotchi goes to bed and try not un-pause it at that time.Or, if that doesent work maybe you paused it when your tamagotchi is...
