on my friends v3 the passwords that you get off tamatown do NOT work but the character he has is a teen. does this affect if the passwords work cause it keeps comin up "error"?

well a lot of people know that one of the codes is a whole cake and ive typed it in before and got it but then one day i was looking in the shop and what do you know there it is and the wierd thing is that i didnt type the code in
