When i had a V4.5 secert tama, the baby's points were considerably large.... so if your going for secert characters, this is a handy feature.

UPDATE My tama has evolved! I think the glitch was that it didn't change the age displayed, but it still changed the age internally. It became ura kuchipatatchi, then evolved into the muscle-man tama.(Don't know it's name). Thanks for being so helpful, guys!!!!!! :) :( :D :P

There is no way to be sure you'll get a gender except if you debug it. I don't know how to debug a v6, though.
