when you get the royal costume from the king what happens to you tamagothci

i have got a v4 and on my first generation a accidentley overfed it but it was fine and lived to a healthy age and had a baby but on my second generation a fed it a sensible amount but it died early with no offspring! P.S i treated them both the same on all the other aspects like skill points...
