I have no idea how to work this thing. I installed it. Now what? How do I send files to my tamagotchi iD?

Is it possible to downlaod things onto a Tamagotchi iD without an infrared cell phone? I would never be allowed to buy another cell phone and I really want to download stuff. I think I read somewhere that you could downlaod things without a cell phone but I'm not sure.
