I understand that the titles are a little different but most of the replies are very similar to the kind of things you are talking about here

We ask everyone to try to remember to check the forums for duplicates before they start a new thread.

It keeps the forums tidy and all the useful and interesting info is in one, easy to find place rather than spread across several topics all about the same thing.
