Baby without the Matchmaker

My two Tamas connected via Jinsei and I pressed 'game' but two babies appeared on one Tama and one baby on the other. One Tama was only two! The other was five.

There was no matchmaker, fireworks etc so how did this happen?

It sounds like there was an infrared communications error. It happens occasionally. Sometimes when you're connecting, one character jumps up off their screen, but doesn't appear on the other's screen. (She does return to her own screen after a moment.) Sometimes you wrap a gift and send it, but it never arrives - it just disappears in the post.
