How does the family bonding level go up? Also can someone explain the new C button features to me?

Binary has a great guide to bonding here: Bonding
On the V5 you can use the C button to exit a game at any time, and when there are no menu items selected you can press it and your tamagotchi will perform an animation. The animations differ depending on bonding and I can't remember them all, but at 80% they will walk up to the screen and you can see them up close.

Okay...I got the bonding items but it isn't working!

If the family calls for training (this happens at 12:00 Pm, 2 pm, 4 pm, 6 pm) go to the trainig icon and pick an item to play with. Every 3 times you train your family, the bonding goes up and when you use the pass word bonding items, you have to use it 34 times to get the bonding go up another 10 percent. Binary explained this well to some people, so read Binary's instructuions on how this works.
