Well I was watching Disney Channel because I was extremely bored...I watched like, 5 shows and then it was the Nightly Pix. And normally I wouldn't watch it, but I was so comfortable so I decided to just watch it.

And....ughhh...it was so disgusting! I didn't think Disney would play that sort of movie! Okay, I don't want to, um, describe it too fully but I'll give you the basics.

At the beginning, it showed uh...semen going through a man's, er, thing and then entering a woman's, er, thing. And then the egg being fertilized. Then it showed the baby growing inside and stuff. Within the movie, there was tons of sexual references and many swear words. It showed people having "it" and that sort of thing.

THIS WAS PLAYING ON THE DISNEY CHANNEL! I was so shocked.

What is your opinion on this??

O__O That's...really weird. And, uh, no, I do not think that was appropriate to put on a channel that tons of little kids watch. Was it on kind of late at night? What was it rated? o_O

It was on Disney Channel?!!?!?!!?!?!? DISNEY CHANNEL?!!?!?!?!!?!? That's it for now on I'm only watching the shows on Disney and when a movie comes on I'm turning it to Nickelodeon.

Firstly, what time was this shown?

I'm guessing it was after most young children would be in bed.

Second, it sounds like you are not describing a "porn" style movie here, but describing a programme that could be viewed as informatiive / documentary style concerning reproduction in humans.

If the programme was about sexual reproduction, then it's not really surprising that there were sexual references... and scenes showing sexual activity (I assume that is what you mean when you posted "having it" and that sort of thing.)

You mention swear words? But it is not clear if they were kind of swear words that are slang for sex or simply words your parents have told you not to use because they are cussing.

Overall, TV channels are normally bound by rules that stop them showing programmes that are inappropriate for certain ages.

This means that some programmes considered appropriate for 12+yrs (for example) will only be shown after 9pm in the evenings (for example).

If the Disney Channel chose to show a programme for older children at a later time in the evening, they were probably following the national guidelines.

I don't know what age children are given Puberty and Sex Ed. classes in school but here in the UK it can be taught from the age of 10/11+yrs (Year 5) - which is 4th Grade in the US I think.

Nothing you've described is much different from what I know is taught to a lot of 10 and 11yr olds in the UK (before they move into the next level of schooling at 11+yrs).

That's.. odd. Are you sure it wasn't a crazy dream or you changed the channel..? o..O

Was it shown later at night? If so, then most kids who shouldn't have been watching it would be asleep, so really there's nothing wrong with that.

If it was shown on Disney, it couldn't have been that bad. Just like TamaMum said, it doesn't sound like a porn movie.

And anyhow, the movie had to be rated to be shown on TV (or at least it's that was in the US)

:)

That is a bit disturbing. OO When was it on? It might've been one of those movie for older people. If not, the Disney people have screwed up minds.

@ x_Lynn Chan_x: She said it was called 'Nightly Pix'

That's weird! DISNEY CHANNEL??? I think you must have made some kind of mistake - I've been watching that channel for years, and there's never been anything even remotely like that! I'm not saying you're lying, but if it was true, there'd be a huge scandal. It can't even have been an 'educational reproduction movie' because Disney Channel does entertainment kids shows, and there is nothing educational! I don't believe it.

Yeah - I know Disney Channel wouldn't have an educational documentary. Are you SURE you didn't unknowingly change the channel? O__O Sure, Disney Channel's had some sex scandals (Miley Cyrus photos, Vanessa Hudgens, etc.) but actually showing a movie that showed people...uh...having sex??!! That is just, really really, bizarre.

WHAAAAT?! Sooo many questions.

1. What time was it showing?

2. Are you sure that you didn't flip the channel by accident?

Those are only two. So freaky!

TM- That could be true, but I doubt the movie I saw had anything to do with teaching kids. The woman got pregnant by a married man accidentally, and it seriously showed the egg being fertilized by...er..semen. There was sexual references that didn't have anything to do with being educational about it, just plain naughty as well as many beeped out words and swear words that weren't beeped out.

It was on before 9:00pm. Usually they play movies like High School Musical and stuff, but obviously not this time.

Bratztroxg -It wasn't a mistake. :( Before the movie started, it was clearly on Disney as I had been watching the same station for multiple hours and never changed it.

Are you sure it was on Disney? Because I checked the schedule for yesterday and around that time Big fat liar was on. Not the movie you described.

I'm 100% sure it was Disney.....actually, no, it was Family. But isn't it the same thing? Either way, Family channel shouldn't be playing that sort of thing either.

Abc family? Well that isn't a channel like Disney. So it's different. It's not a huge deal if it was on that channel.

No....er...the Family Channel is associated with Disney (well I'm pretty sure). All Family plays on TV is Hannah Montana, That's So Raven, Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Recess and that sort of thing without commercials and stuff. It's a channel for, well, FAMILIES. They never usually play movies that have to do with sex and stuff.
