e-Tamago and Omelettes

OK,I have just read the Sticky about e-Tamago being TamaTown for Japanese tamas and all,but I have just noticed one thing about its name.

Tamago is a kind of Japanese omelette (omelet for all you Americans-search it up on Google Images).

Seriously, I think it would be kind of strange for Japanese people going 'lol TamaTown is called e-Omelette'. Was this name supposed to be?

Tamago means simply "egg"; not specifically an omelette.
