For me, usually the first song I hear by a band tends to be my favourite.

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

My examples;

Band - First&Favourite.

Die For You; Fireworks.

Panic! At The Disco; Nine In The Afternoon.

Escape The Fate; The Flood.

Blood On The Dance Floor; Scream For My Ice Cream.

For Our Hero; Mr Prozac.

There's probably a heckload more, but do you get what I mean?

In some cases it applies to me too.

Like,

The Tough Alliance; Koka Kola Veins.

Amy Can Flyy; Dinosaurs Go Rawr.

&, P!ATD; New Perspective.

I'm pretty sure that's it.

I like to explore the artist's songs and usually the next song is always better than the last.

If you get what I mean, :)

For our hero; Mr Prozac

The Cab; Vegas Skies

&& that's about it I think xD

that typically doesn't happen to me, the first song is never the best.

like the first song by all time low i ever heard was dear maria count me in, but lullabies is definitely my favorite.

i write sins not tragedies was the first song i ever heard by panic!, and yet i'd have to say camisado or time to dance are my favorites.

hush was the first song i ever heard by automatic loveletter, and makeup smeared eyes (acoustic) is definitelyyy my favorite.

um i don't know, that's typically how it always works out, in every situation. those are just some examples.

In many cases it's the same for the song, but not mostly every time.

Panic! At the Disco - "I Write Sins Not Tradgedies"

Green Day - "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" and "Longview"

My Chemical Romance - "Teenagers" and "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)"

Goo Goo Dolls - "Iris"

Fall Out Boy - "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs"

But with me, i think each new song from those bands is better than the last =)
