How manygens can you get to?

I'm on generation 10 and 1 and my highest is 22 on my normal V1 tamagotchi, then I tried to debug my tamagotchi V1 and broke it! And I'm on generation 1 because I just got the V2.

Well, in theory you can get up to 99 (because there is only room on the screen for two digits, so you can't reach 100 gens)

As for me, my highest gen is 23 (on a V1)

I'm guessing once you it 99, you can keep going on your generations and have 100 more but it won't show.
