My hair is really curly and kinky, and I always straighten it. But now that is' summer, I really wanted to get it relaxed so it could stay that way when i'm swimming, and stuff. I think it would make things easier on me.

BUT, I am worried that it will damage my hair and make it worse than it is now. I know it will damage it a little, and that's okay. But I'm worried it won't work well, damage my hair, and be a waste of money since it's so expensive.

Have any of you ever gotten a relaxer? Or you know someone? It would help if I asked someone who had it done before and see if they liked it or not. Btw, I'mm getting it done professionally, not by myself.

I got a relaxer once. It sucked D: It did nothing for my hair at all, just make it a kinky, frizzy puffball :I

In my opinion, they aren't worth it.
