Half prices?

Does anyone know when a shop sells at half prices? is it random?

All i know is that it's whenever it says SALE on the screen when you go to the shop, but i think that it is random

Someone suggested that you only get a sale if you haven't purchased anything for several days, so the shop is half price as an incentive to buy!

Well, looks like it's random... I bought things from the shop 3 days in a row, and still got a sale!

I think its random. It doesnt really matter what day or month.
