well I got my tama a long time ago and now its a child. so I was wondering does it take a really long time for a child to grow into a teenager or do I pause it to much?

It takes about 1 day for the child to become a teenager.

And pausing too much will stunt it's growth.

Well, once your child turns 1, you can officially start waiting for the evolution tune, when it becomes a teen. If you pause it a lot, it might become a teen when it is still 0. Usually it takes a day or two from the time it becomes a child to its next evolution.
