Children that age usually just want to be played with and talked to 
. As in even if they are talking about the dullest thing be really enthusiastic. For example when the 3 year olds at Nursery talk endlessly to me about spiderman I have to make out I think it's awsome to, like 'Wow he really has webs?' and it works every time even though spiderman isn't my favourite person if I had a choice..
