Well your cat was sufferring so the best thing you could have done was put them down.

i have read about these kind of things in Chicken Soup For The Cat Lovers Soul. And i cry, because i have a cat, too. She is about 11 years old, her name is Kitty. Im preparing for the day she dies, we are best friends. I would be the same as you when Kitty dies, but i reassure you your cat is happily purring in God`s lap.
