My iPod nano, (the square one, not the shake one) won't sync to iTunes. I've had it for a couple of years and when I plug it in, it charges but it doesn't show up in the devices side on the left. I can't sync it or anything. It annoys me SO much >.<

How do I fix it?

Hmm. What version of iTunes do you have? You might have to re-install it.

I had the same problem once.. but that's because I deleted something important. x3

Then I re-installed it and it worked fine.

And it might also be your iTunes version.

I can't think of any other reason.

I agree - Re-install your iTunes. Make sure it's the latest version.

Otherwise, I'd go to apple.com and troubleshoot it, or call their customer support.
