I don't even know why rap has become so popular in this age group. Rap used to be only for the African-American kids in the suburbs who actually didn't make all their songs about sex, drugs, more sex and killing people because of sex.

I personally blame the parents and the rappers. Who really even likes the lyrics? Wouldn't Low be so much more appealing if the lyrics weren't all about the above? D:

:/ Parent's fault. Most parents nowadays are retards anyways.

I'm in fifth grade myself, and I see little kids who hug eachother, others are saying: "Ewww, they're humping!"

I think I lost my childhood real early. When I was real little, me and my best friend (and he still is) were sitting on a bench, and he said something like "You're so nice!" so I hugged him. Some little kid said "Eww, they're having sex!" and I asked what sex was. :/ That ruined my childhood. It was then I started learning more about this screwed up world.

That's wrong for first graders. But there parents should have a say in it.

Im eleven and I will sometimes sing the song My Humps but it's for a joke.

(Im the class clown XP)

They should put ratings on songs like they do movies. And not just songs about s*x

But like girlfriend has the F word in it and a bunch o little kids love that song. Its quite

wrong.

It's wrong for first graders.

When you are mature enough listen to those songs. I don't, I like older songs without the rapping and junk in it like music has today.

Not really.

It's my dance recital this weekend, and the second grade girls are singing to "Low" and "Crank Dat" (I'm talking about the "Superman that ***!" part.)

It's a little wrong.

Drugs, sex, and just plain wrong stuff.

That's what people these days are listening to.

Not all of you.

But really, why do all of the coolest, catchiest, chart-topping songs have to be so wrong?

And Shadowfire~SF, I love the way you say that! :D Some people like rappers, but not all of us agree with the words.

It saddens me when little kids sing 'Crank Dat', and at the 'Super Man' part, they think of the super hero.

It kills me how uncaring parents are these days, if you ask me.. I think they should make a protest against radio stations and music channels.

Like in Britain, I heard they can't show tv shows with sex scenes in it until a certain time,

I think radio stations and music channels should do the same here, in the USA.

With similar things; sex scenes in music videos, dirty lyrics, and suggestive themes.

They shouldn't show or play them till later in the evening, when little kids are in bed.

That would help things a little.

But honestly, when you turn on the radio.. all you hear today is:

"Be my shawty" "Shawty got low, low, low"

"Her body like a cyclone."

"I'm a hussler"

and stuff like that

why can't they play actual songs, with messages?

like, "Runaway Love"

That's a good song, it really has messages.

It talks about problems that youths face today,

And stuff like that.

But come one- music today is only about sex, drugs, killing, degrading of woman, and stuff like that.

Some songs make woman sound like whores, who do nothing but dance/strip.

It sets a wrong message for girls today.

"..to have guys like you, you gotta show some cleavage and shake your a**!"

I pretty much hate music today except for rock and some other songs.

yah now days you can't turn on the radio for 1 hour without hearing a dirty song(unless it's a christian station or classical station)and some times i like to listen to my favorite non dirty songs

Parents today are way too lazy. Most think TV and music is the baby sitter. Then again, alot of kids are uncontrolable brats they get angry at their parents, just because they couldn't have a certain thing.

I once heard a kid at a store call his sister the N word, because his mom wouldn't let him have a toy.

I hardly listen to music. Only video game music.

yah and "speed of sound" it's great song so emotional oh and the artist "john mayer" the best songs i'm going to start a topic on this.

If kids are going to listen to rap, they should listen to clean rap that talks about rainbows and butterflies.

I agree wholeheartedly with SK. Parents should have a better hold on what their children listen to.

Funny to imagine. Who thinks I've seen 4th graders singing Touch My Body by now? It happened. Children need some discipline. Oh yeah, stuffed toys have to be blocked too. (4th graders playing with them in a "wierd way")

I agree it should be toned down just a little....but why should radio stations stop playing it? I mean other people in this world listen to Rap that actually like that type of music. Others may not. If you dont want your kid singing it then dont let them listen to it! The world cant just ban everything thats approperiate for kids?? I dont really listen to that type of music but low is fun to dance to sometimes lol xD

We both lost are childhood at about the same time.

._.

I already knew what sex was in third grade - but I learned many new 'facts' a while later...

Anyways (back to the main topic), there parents are to blame. They need to pay more attention to what there kids are doing. >.>

My brother constantly sings that stupid Soulja Boy song crank that or whatever. It's annoying in the first place and second, It's a nasty song that a 10 year old shouldn't be singing. I am so regretting the day that song was released onto the radio.

I agree, first graders?! What is up with them? I think that is very inappropriate. and what is up with parents these days? It seems as if they just don't seem to care. Like if their kids are screaming and running wild in a store, they act like they're kids are standing right there beside them like perfect little angels! Or the fact they don't even care what their kids do. I'm not saying this is the case with all parents, but it is with some. However, first graders listening to this kind of music isn't right, and they don't even know what it means, but that's probaly best, so I think the songs shouldn't be stopped on the radio, that would cause a society uproar, but the only people who can stop this is their parents, they need to take action. :kuribotchi: :kuribotchi: :marumimitchi:

ffft...I hate "Low"

It's even popular where I live!

Chh. All popular music seem to contain nowadays are dirty and perverted things. (especially in music videos.)

Reason why some people aren't very smart. *huge sigh*

Wow...first graders! I guess if they are mature enough, but thats just crazy!
What 1st grade is mature enough to sing about kinky, dirty sex? :D

Gaah, I swear. Kids these days are sure getting introduced to sex, drugs, porn, and murder at a lot earlier age then they used too. @_@...*Sigh*

But yeah, I agree. I just can't believe what some parents let there little children listen to these days.

Quite shocking really...x_x" Uggg...

I think parents should take more responsibility, and actually bother to change the radio in the car, if it's something

children shouldn't be listening too! :/
