Many digital pets have time limits for the "pets" to be open... You probably exceded the limit and it erased. Many digital pets fail to tell you if you have them open for so long without the batteries on the cell-readers... They will die/reset. Usually it is about 1 minute to 2 minutes... Usually it's a bit lower though. Tamagotchi are guilty for not annoucing this...

That isnt right.I had my V3 open for months and it still worked.

V5s are normal for that, I don't know about other versions because when I change the batterey out of my other 6... they download.
