well my sis had a ufotchi, i don't think you really have to do anything, just take good care of them, and keep their hunger and happy hearts high

There is no guaranteed way to get any specific character except by debugging it...

It's mostly by chance how you get them so why not have fun and just wait and see???

ya my bro had a ufotchi and i just had a dorotchi, i dont know what my brother did with his, but with my dorotchi i did kinda a bad job keeping the hearts for happiness and hunger up and i turned into a hinotamatchi and then it turned into a dorotchi. dont debug it, just wait and get whatever character u get.
