"Megumi! Earth to Megumi!"
Megumi looked up from her daydreams.
Everybody around her giggled.
"Megumi, answer my question!"
"Oh, um..."
"Yes?"
Megumi stared at her teacher blankly.
"Megumi, come on! Lunch detention! For the fourth time this week! Quit your daydreams."
Megumi's face turned a deep shade of crimson red as all her friends laughed.
Well, not that she had any.
That day after school, Megumi strolled down the sidewalk quietly.
The girls behind her giggled and whispered endlessly.
"Oh my gosh! She's SO screwed up."
"I know! Seriously! Is she deaf of something?"
"Hey Megumi! Kayako wants to know if you're deaf!"
Kayako jabbed her friend with her elbow and giggled with a high pitched tone.
Megumi clamped her eyes closed as she spoke.
"Shut up, Kayako. You're not so sharp yourself."
"Ooh, Megumi disagrees! You want to argue with me?"
Kayako sneered at Megumi.
"Sure."
Megumi turned around and slapped Kayako.
Then, she took off.
Laughing hysterically, Megumi ran down the block into her apartment.
As she shut the door with a slam, Megumi laughed out loud.
