They can! But it's random when the matchmaker comes, because on my 1st gen. it was 6, 2ed gen. 5, 3rd gen. 5, and my 4 gen just got married. At age 6!

hey pepolez i dont need help any more now but my old tama ms i gave it to my friend and i reset it but i boght the pop star design so now my groth stats are petitchi(boy) kutchitamatchi kikitchi age 2 and the skills are tone 384 rythem 298 originul 313 so my kikitchi is i think going to evole today so ill need help later for now THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!
