Tamagotchis may end after V7 of maybe V5! 
If I was part of Bandai, the tama designer, I would make one called 'Matchmaker raising'. Here are the features that I would have:
* Raise a Matchmaker boy or girl.
* Pink pixels/colour screen.
* Once your Matchie has grown up, it gets a job helping people to find partners.
* You can visit various tamagotchi houses and places without IR connection!
* Have another virtual Tamagotchi 'Block' that you can connect your tama to so you can visit loads of cool places e.g. You could get a Mall block, a park block, a zoo block etc....
* Create virtual valentines cards on your tamagotchi and give them to others.
* Win matchmaking medals!
* Design a room on your tama where people can stay.
* Design your own room where you stay!
* Run a tama honeymoon suite!
I would also make the 'Travelling tam':
*Visit virtual countries
*Visit other tam's around the world.
